That saying, "All dressed up and no place to go." I never knew what that was like before today. Today I got up and got ready to go to work. Unfortunately, there are two states of dress I have. One is a T-shirt in varying levels of quality based mainly on age, with similar jeans. I have a few T-shirts I like, but the majority of them are ones that I wear because I have no other decent shirts to replace them. The other state is fairly dressed-up type outfits, but I don't have enough of them to justify wearing them often.

Well now, I have a job in an office where you're supposed to be fairly dressed up—though not so much suit and tie, as I learned on my first day, but *anyway*—so I have to have some nice clothing. I made it three days, but today I was out. And so, with the little extra money I had I went to Reny's in the short period of time I had between getting dropped off by the bus and actually going to work. In I went, and when I left I was wearing the new tan slacks, black short-sleeved button-up cotton-poly blend shirt, socks to match the pants, black dress shoes I was already wearing, and black belt with brass buckle that I had in my backpack already. Needless to say, I did—and still do, by the way—look *damn* good. This kind of thing *is* my look. Everyone has their look. The one thing that matches them perfectly. This is mine. The "Not-A-Suit-And-Tie-But-Still-Dressed-Up" look.

And so I strolled into work feeling like I was probably going to have that perfect air of being one of the best dressed people in the room, but not looking like I had *tried* to be the best dressed person in the room. A great feat if you can pull it off, and I was ready to.

Unfortunately today—yet another one of the many things I've not known about because no one thought to tell me yet—was, being a Friday, the office's weekly casual day. Everyone in there was in jeans and T-shirts and all that stuff that I would have *easily* been able to fit in wearing. And so, I was one of the only dressed up people in the office today.

Ugh. Eventually I'll get this place worked out.

And now, here I sit, dressed up in the best looking outfit I've owned in a while, online, watching a SNL rerun from 1996 on Comedy Central. Make what you want from that.
